Grunting and groaning

Charis makes so much noise these days. She doesn't peacefully sleep anymore. She is always sighing, cooing, gurgling, coughing, grunting, or trying to pass some enormous bubble of gas out the wrong end (it really smells sometimes). But we still love her anyway. She has been getting more and more used to the outside world these past few days. She made her first of many trips to the mall (which she slept through of course) and got to see grandma, nanna, and great grandma all in the same day. We hope she is worn out and sleeps a ton tonight (we can only hope).

She seems like she is approaching another growth spurt. It seems that she is hungry all the time and working through some things internally. Nothing too gross today, well, except for this morning.

There we were, enjoying our pillow time in the early hours of the morning when we noticed some discoloration on Charis's stomach. Upon closer examination, we found it to be fecal matter, spread all the way up to her naval!! Her diaper was completely full and we quickly did what all good parents do in that situation... try not to throw up and run her to the changing table ASAP. It only took 4 wipes, but we got it all off of her and no permanent damage was done. Thank goodness for the diaper genie. Anyhoo, that was enough excitement for today. We'll be in touch later this weekend. Night...

"Maybe if I burp she'll give me some candy..."

She's always safe with Daddy

I still can't believe how little she is

You know what? Abigail's first "real" poop went all the way up to her armpits! (This was probably related to the fact that she was wearing cute little baby tights that were very "Urkleish" under her dress.) Her belly button cord had not fallen off at that time, and it got all in there. It was so gross! I cried.

Glad you had each other for support as you worked through that mess:)

Love the pic of Josh and Charis sleeping!

See you soon!

Josh,
The one of you and Charis sleeping is so cute...haha..well she's cute anyway! = ) She looks so snuggly and warm with her hands by her face. I had to show it to Matt and I think he looked a little wistful ; )

Looks like you guys are doing well. We're glad we were able to see you in August. Say hi to Moriah for us!

Josh, the picture of you and Charis is so special. That's a picture she'll look back on one day and realize how much she's loved by her daddy. I am so thankful that you are such a great father and that Moriah is such a great mother. Charis really couldn't have done any better.

I love you guys, keep up the Good work.

Always praying for you,
Crystal
